The mission for our pathology lab was first envisioned by Dr. Faquir Chand Shorey, in the year 1930. He was a man of immense capabilities who was the General Secretary of IMA Punjab for many years and subsequently became the President of IMA Punjab. He was a proud member of the Punjab Medical Council (PMC) and was also in the working committee of Indian Medical Association (IMA). To improve the diagnostic scenario of the region back in those days, he pioneered the privatization of laboratories. He set up the only private lab in whole of Punjab in those times. The core essence of our institution since then has been the quality and accuracy in results. He was instrumental in setting up of polyclinics so that patients can get clinical expertise of many specialties under one roof. After him the flagship of this laboratory was taken up by his son Dr. Balbir Chand Shorey, he took the laboratory to a whole new level and was the first one to introduce fully automated analyzers in private labs in Punjab. He himself was Financial Secretary of IMA. He started the idea of health checkup of school going children and had gone through immense hardship to keep this mission in full swing. Our institute has never compromised on it’s quality and services to mankind. Keeping in mind Guru Nanak’s teachings “Mat uchhi par Mann neewan” and “har maidaan fathe” We are providing our services with dedication to Humans.
